The Award-Winning Riverside Holiday Resort is located by the riverside in the tranquil town of Urunga, situated on the NSW North Coast. Our resort boasts 40 fully self-contained two-bedroom spacious apartments, consisting of 14 upstairs, 21 ground floor accessible, and 5 that are wheelchair accessible with widened entranceways and bathrooms. Our Riverside Resort is a quick, accessible walk to the town centre, the famous Urunga boardwalk and tidal saltwater pool, restaurants, cafés, pub & clubs.

About Urunga

In the local language of the First Nations Gumbaynggirr Peoples, Urunga means “long white sands”, and both Urunga and North Beach certainly live up to their name. Urunga is located where the rivers meet the sea with the convergence of the Bellinger and Kalang rivers, making water activities, including boating and both freshwater and saltwater fishing, extremely popular and a major draw card for the area.

Urunga is located between the beachside holiday hotspots of Nambucca Heads, Sawtell and Coffs Harbour, and is the gateway to the spectacular Waterfall Way and the historic villages of Bellingen and Dorrigo.

Two-Bedroom

All our two-bedroom apartments have an open-plan kitchen, dining and living rooms. They are fully self-contained, offering a full kitchen with oven, stove, and fridge, plus an internal laundry with a front load washer and dryer. All apartments can cater for up to six people at no extra charge.

Each apartment is equipped with reverse cycle air-conditioning, a smart TV and DVD player. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds, all of which are made up on arrival. The lounge in the living room is a fold-out queen-size sofa bed with innerspring mattress. Each apartment has crime safe sliding doors opening up onto your own patio or balcony.

Ground Floor Accessible

All our ground floor accessible apartments have two bedrooms and open-plan kitchen, dining, living rooms. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. The lounge in the living room is a fold-out queen-size sofa bed with an innerspring mattress.

We have 21 ground floor accessible units with a small lip/step at the 760mm wide front door. Each apartment has crime safe sliding doors opening up to 1630mm wide to take you out onto your own patio.

Wheelchair Accessible

Our five wheelchair-accessible apartments are specifically designed to cater for all accessibility needs, including those with wheelchairs.

Entranceways are roll-in and our wheelchair friendly bathrooms have a roll-in shower, handrails and a seat. Spacious bedrooms and lounge area along with kitchens and laundry facilities specially designed for guests with access needs.

Featuring all of the standard two-bedroom apartment facilities including open-plan kitchen with full service kitchen and spacious lounge room, air conditioning, internal laundry, the upstairs two-bedroom apartments have the added bonus of elevated views over the riverside, or hinterland and adjacent golf course.

Overview

Our complex boasts 40 two-bedroom bedroom fully self-contained apartments that can sleep up to six guests each. We have level paths throughout the complex, an accessible pool with ramp and hoist on request, inclusive play equipment and trampolines for children, and BBQ areas.

Riverside Holiday Resort is located directly across the road from the Kalang River and is backed by the Urunga Golf Course, just a five-minute accessible walk to town.

The Riverside Holiday Resort

Riverside Holiday Resort is located right on the Kalang River at Urunga and boasts an abundant array of wildlife – including native birds, fish and reptiles. Urunga is well known for its beautiful boardwalk that stretches almost 1km across a tidal lagoon. The boardwalk is accessible so you can go all the way to the waves in a wheelchair.

The Urunga Lido also features pontoons & a jumping platform at the end of the jetty where you can swim, relax and have fun regardless of your age or ability. As a tributary to the Pacific Ocean, this picturesque area offers numerous great beaches and surf spots nearby. The town of Urunga also has local cafes, restaurants, museum and art gallery to enjoy.

Urunga is located just 20 minutes south of Coffs Harbour, making it perfectly accessible for a quick run to the larger shopping centres, cinemas, sporting fields or a night out. Enjoyable day trips include walks along the coastline, Hungry Head beach with its rare coastal rainforest, Dorrigo National Park, Go-Karting at Raleigh International Raceway, wine tasting at Raleigh Vineyard and Winery, or short drives to Bellingen, Sawtell, Coffs Harbour. and Nambucca Heads.
